The SARTREX mission to Unite, Train, and Develop the global Search and Rescue community is driven by the passion and dedication of our volunteers. Our digital presence is the primary gateway through which we connect with SAR professionals, partners, and the public. To enhance this vital function, we are officially seeking a skilled and motivated volunteer to join our team as a Wix Website Manager.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute your technical skills to a global non-profit mission. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance, management, and development of our official website, ensuring it remains a professional, informative, and engaging platform for our international community.
THE ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As our volunteer Wix Website Manager, you will be a key part of our communications team. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Content Updates: Regularly updating the website with the latest news, program announcements, blog posts, and event details.
Platform Management: Ensuring the Wix platform is up-to-date, secure, and functioning optimally. This includes managing plugins, monitoring site performance, and troubleshooting any technical issues.
Design & Layout Improvements: Collaborating with the SARTREX leadership to improve the user experience, design layouts for new pages, and ensure brand consistency across the site.
SEO & Analytics: Implementing basic SEO best practices to improve our online visibility and monitoring website traffic to provide insights to our team.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking an individual who is not only technically proficient but also shares our commitment to the SAR community. The ideal candidate should possess:
Essential Experience: Proven experience in building, managing, and maintaining websites on the Wix platform.
Desirable Skills: A foundational understanding of web design principles, user experience (UX), and search engine optimization (SEO).
Personal Attributes:
Reliability & Professionalism: A self-motivated individual who can manage tasks independently and meet deadlines.
Collaborative Spirit: Excellent communication skills and a willingness to work as part of a remote, international team.
Passion for the Mission: A genuine interest in the Search and Rescue field and a desire to contribute to a meaningful cause.
